Of this famous place called "Jiu Fen"

NOW NOW lets get back to Taiwan (:

Day 3
The day started with us visiting the hot springs. AWESOME AWESOME stuff i have to say ((:

This is me looking all pumped up for the hot springs! excitement! (: its funny though that we're doing hot springs in the summer. but yeah, it wasnt that bad and hot springs apparently has some beneficial thingy.

My tub!!! :) hehe. the water comes directly from the mountains, so really - u can imagine the sulphur smell at the place. but it was ALLL WORTHHH ITTT :D

This is super glam, but this is me enjoying it! girls, always wear a shower cap when ure doing hot springs. so that it doesnt accidentally touch the water. the hot springs water can give our nice manes split ends :S aikes!

Looking all fresh and ready for whatever is on our itenary! (:

We head up to "Jiu Fen", in english its direct translation is nine parts? its kinda far and remote but its famous because of one movie. dont ask me which movie because i dont recall, i have this bad habit of dozing off almost asap when im driven around! haha (:

Anyhoo, it reminds me of Li Jiang and Dali in China, Yunnam. really really.. those ancient towns and city. check it out ;) too bad its jus a whole road up. whereas Li Jiang and Dali are like full fletched ancient towns.

So... "Jiu Fen" has famous famous kick ass "Tai Yang Bing" like Sun Biscuits. haha! (: its actually like the HK "Lao Po Bing" but only that it has more crust less filling. rmb, always get ur Sun Biscuits from there. and i shant be selfish and i'd share about what delicious jellies theyve got there. OK, all jellies have to be bought from there. ive tried jellies from the rest and theirs is TOPS. the worst is when one doesnt heed my advice and tried to 'act smart' then u'd regret cuz going Jiu Fen can be a bitch esp when u wanna head up on weekends. so really, dont be funny and jus buy 6 packets. (buy 5 get 1 freee) its only 200NT per pack - totally worth it considering how it makes one like me orgasm with every bite!

After all that food testing and lots of buying - see, i do what i preach. and yes, we went to this small restaurant which is very famous in "Jui Fen" the best part of it being beside the shop selling all the sun biscuits and jelly!!!! haha. so yeah, u sure as hell cant miss it! (:

I FINALLY GOT DOWN TO TRYING "Lu Rou Fan" its like kong bwa (fatty pork) rice with like this gravy over rice. a just nice serving and seriously, comparing the ones i had for Day 5 - this wins hands down. really, im not kidding.

The veggie looking so delicious! (like Aloysius, side joke Tong! haha!)

Tofu (: it was yum. really! like a chinese style Agedashi tofu, Elaine!! ;)

Drunken Chicken. another yum one tooooo!

And like small side dishes like cucumbers or whatever this is. im jus in awe of my nice photography for this piece.

And oh yes, whenever you have fatty pork gravy rice you've gotta have a bowl of fishball! (: and the fishball is big, soft, yummy and its filling is so yummy. esp when u have it with their sweetish sour tasting chilli! it is mind blowing people!!! (i'd get you guys a bucket, stop drooling on ur keyboard. haha!)

Oh, sorry (: i jus had to do this. be a tad mean. tee hee, shes hilarious. shes selling this speciality thing in Taiwan, like small sausage wrapped in big sausage. i didnt try hers but i tried the ones in ShiLin Night Market on Day 4 and they were awesome. you know what attracts me to her stall right? not her food... jus her!! :D hehe. no wonder they say Taiwan has alot of creative minds. the wang wang wang zai nui nai was good enough proof, plus add this - GOD, im sold!! (:

Not to mention that they even have Peanut Wrap Ice Cream. its like popiah skin, with peanuts and 2 scoops of ice cream, wrapped up and u've got a dish. GOSH, these creative minds!

I reached the end of the road and im at the peak of "Jiu Fen" (: Lo and Behold the sight!

On the way back down we stopped at this mini restaurant for some peanut filling ball thingy. i had mine cold so it was ultra chewy! (: even better than pearls! wooo! and it is also the best that ive had in Taiwan. yeah i knowww ;) the best part of it was the eating place, very rustic and chinese-ish i totally love it! now, i miss Li Jiang and Dali! :( *pouts*

So after all that jazz about "Jiu Fen" we headed to i think this Taiwan Ancestral Gate thingy (: again, i slept thruout the journey to have really heard the guide tell us the chinese name of the place :S

They change shifts every hour, its a little like those men outstanding in Britain (: they have to stand there for one hour straight and if u touch them they'd have to do this action of hitting their guns on the floor and oh yes, dont touch them for fun or anything else... u're in deep shit YO. haha!

The place looks like a palace doesnt it?

So i was there just in time for the shift changing. boy do they march stiff. i can never march, let alone march that stiff. but yeah, they really respect their ancestors and i think its great dedication to do something like that everyday.

SEE WHAT I MEAN BY STIFF MARCHING?

Inside the palace.

I like this picture. it speaks volumes (:

Stupid woman opening her umbrella spoiling my shot :(

They look like toy soldiers, dont they?!

Ok, so finally we're done with most of the day by the time we ended (: and we headed out to the ShiLin Night Market. i know u guys expect more food pictures from me but i was too tired from all that walking and hungry like hell to wait and take any more pictures (: I JUS GOT DOWN TO EATING IT ALL. but no worries, i tried out almost everything in my list (i did some food research before my trip and ive got this PDA file of where all the nice ShiLin Night Market food stalls are at, so if you want it - ask me and i'd be glad to share!) hehe.

After all that walking, the shopping queen in me found it to walk XiMenDing again in hopes of good buys and what nots! (: haha. so some interesting discoveries..

Red House. This place is really like our esplanade, for the arts. but they jus closed!!! URGH. i was late to enter cuz of 5 mins. but nvm, i still checked it out in the next few days.

Oh yes, im amazed by how they can jus have a temple out of nowhere in the shopping district *shrugs* but its beautiful right the temple? (: till then.. day 4 awaits!
